It’s All In Your Mind
The Theory Behind the Function
At Birth
You come into this world as pretty much a blank page. You are born with primitive mind – where race memory of fight or flight is stored. You also are born with two fears – the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. Everything else is learned. And even your fears of falling and loud noises can be unlearned.
From Birth to Eight Years Old
This is the time when you form your belief system. Not a religious dogma, although religion can be part of it. But your own personal belief system - everything you “know” about you and your world. A stove can be hot. A loving hug feels good. You’re pretty. You’re smart. You’re worthless. You’re lazy. Good or bad, your mind takes it all in and stores it in your subconscious. As truth. As a known. And your mind will measure every piece of information coming in against these “truths” and “knowns” that have been learned.
Your Belief System Is Now Set
From now on, your belief system will create your reality. Every action you take or don’t take will be based on your belief system. How successful you will be. What types of relationships you will have. How you will react to any situation. Everything about your life will come out of your belief system.
But You Have the Power to Change It
When you were developing your belief system, you were dependent on information coming in from outside sources. Your family. Your friends. Teachers. Television. Books. You still take in information that way. But, as an adult, you have developed more discernment. You can recognize where some belief in you is not working for you. Which means you can change your beliefs. And change the way your life evolves.
